EJMT Abstract

Geometric patterns are an excellent learning resource for mathematics teachers for various levels of education. In this paper we explore a narrow group of patterns from Islamic art, so called ribbon patterns, and we will show how technology, in our case Geometer’s Sketchpad, can be used to create these patterns in a very simple and attractive way.
