EJMT Abstract

A spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel, has proven to be an excellent tool for the study, implementation, and visualization of a wide range of mathematical concepts, as well as for mathematical modeling of diverse applications. We focus on the use of Excel’s powerful Data Table tool to present new and creative ways to study and teach a wide range of mathematical topics. We draw our topics from algebra, calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, and numerical analysis. Each is accompanied by files that incorporate interactive graphics created in Excel. We also present additional ideas for educators and their students to pursue.
